AKA is worth $12 million. He has been in the music industry for over thirteen years, accumulating a lot of money through album sales, international shows, and music production. 

AKA’s albums and singles achieved immense success, effectively securing his bag. The rapper then turned entrepreneur and established several businesses. AKA has endorsements with numerous brands, including Cruz Vodka.

Beam Group

After leaving his former label, the rapper started a management and media company in 2017. The company set out to manage musicians. In 2018, the company shut its doors permanently after operating for one year. Sunday World reported that AKA’s partner, Prince Ngwenya, had allegedly bought himself a Maserati using company funds and that Beam Group had not fully paid employees’ salaries. All of this drama was unfolding without the knowledge of AKA. The company had been in debt, which led to its closure.

Cuba Lounge BLK

In 2020, while others were reeling from the impact of Covid-19 on their finances, AKA was buying a club. The rapper acquired half ownership and shares of the Durban-based nightclub and restaurant, formerly Cuba Lounge. 


AKA launched a sleek and fashionable clothing line called Bhovamaina, named after his EP, Bhovamaina, in 2021.

The Braai Show 

In partnership with Makhuducom Media, AKA started SABC 1’s hit show, The Braai Show with AKA. The show was a success, and SABC 1 requested a second season. At the time, AKA was dealing with drama surrounding the untimely death of his fiancée. A video had surfaced of the rapper breaking a door and arguing with his late fiancée. Due to that controversy, the rapper had to take a step back from the show. The production company hired a replacement – fellow rapper and arch-nemesis Cassper Nyovest. The rapper took Makhuducom Media to the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa to dispute the show’s ownership. After a legal battle, AKA won the battle over the ownership rights and received his fifty-percent cut.

Cruz Vodka

AKA has been the longest-running ambassador for the alcoholic brand. The deal was signed in 2018 and was worth a whopping R8 million. AKA later upgraded his deal with Cruz Vodka and created his signature flavour in a launch attended by many celebrities, including Pearl Thusi, Nomzamo Mbatha and Da LES. His first signature flavour was watermelon. He later added the banana flavour. The deal had AKA earning royalties for each bottle sold.


This deal was the first of its kind between a sports brand and an African artist. The deal was reportedly worth R3.3 million, and the rapper was getting R120K a month as part of their deal. AKA then collaborated with the brand to create his sneaker called SneAKA. The SneAKA sold out within hours of release and was a runaway success. However, the rapper ended his relationship with the sports brand claiming non-payment.

Drip Footwear 

A partnership with up with Drip footwear, owned by Lekau Sehoana, who is friends with Cassper Nyovest, is reportedly in the works. This rumour came after AKA shared a picture with Lekau on his social media, sparking reports that he has joined the Drip Footwear family. Social media users were convinced the rapper was trying to take Cassper Nyovest’s bag since he is also an ambassador for the brand and recently signed a deal worth R100 million. AKA is yet to confirm or deny the speculations

AKA has spent his money investing in property and building up his assets.


The rapper bought a house in 2016, following his daughter’s birth with DJ Zinhle. AKA bought his mansion for millions, and the home is in Bryanston. Before buying a house, he had been living in a bachelor pad.

The double-storey mansion has a huge balcony. Inside the balcony door is a lounging area where the rapper likes to entertain guests. The room had packed with his many awards.

The house has modern furniture matching the clear white colour on the walls and the floor, while the furniture is grey and brown. 


AKA’s car collection is quite impressive. The rapper is a BMW fan and has collected many cars from the brand.

They broke up following AKA’s affair with media personality Bonang Matheba. AKA and Bonang dated for two years, and she even appeared in AKA’s music video for his hit song, The World Is Yours. They broke up in 2017 and AKA dated influencer Nicole Nyaba. They dated briefly, and she even lived with him. In 2019, DJ Zinhle and AKA fuelled dating rumours after they vacationed together. In 2021, the were speculations the rapper was dating fellow rapper Nadia Nakai. The two confirmed their relationship with a social media post and matching tattoos.
